Metals are sorted based on type and quality. Larger pieces of metal are shredded into smaller more manageable pieces. Once shredded, the metal is cleaned to remove dirt, paint, or other non-metallic items. Cleaned metal is then melted in a large furnace, purified, and finally cooled and solidified, before being transported as metal bars to various factories to be used in the production of new products.
